Eating Italian food is almost like romancing a woman. Italian food is more than just a meal, it’s an experience. That’s why when you go into an Italian restaurant, there is just nothing like it. The atmosphere is like no other place on the planet, from the music being piped in from old Italy, to the paintings on the walls. A good Italian restaurant feels like you’ve walked into 17th century Italy.

The trouble is, these days, it’s very hard to find a good Italian restaurant. With everything being fast food today, most of your Italian places are either pizzerias, Pizza Huts, or fast food chains like Sbarros. Finding a classic Italian restaurant in the states, like they used to have back in the 60s and 70s is like looking for the missing link. But when you do find one, this is what you can expect to get there.

For starters, a good Italian restaurant will have a wine list of just about every Italian wine you could possibly want. The list reads like a who’s who of Italian wineries. Don’t even think of asking the waiter for a mixed drink as he’s likely to deck you. Oh and by the way, the waiters are all Italians.

The appetizers are absolutely to die for. You’ve got your usual fair which includes fried zucchini, roasted garlic, stuffed portabello, mushrooms stuffed with crab meat and fried provolone, just to name a few. The appetizers alone are enough to fill you up so you won’t even need the main course.

And the salads. Italian restaurant salads can be a meal in themselves. You don’t just get a dish with a little lettuce and some carrots. You get a salad the size of Manhattan Island. And don’t ask for any kind of dressing other than Italian or oil and vinegar. Yeah, the waiter will deck you for that too.

As for the main dishes, just about every Italian main dish has something to do with pasta, whether it be spaghetti, linguini, ziti or whatever. Most of the dish, as it is with Chinese food, is made up of the pasta. However, you do get quite a bit of meat with your meal too. Italians love to eat and they love to feed you. Without a doubt there is no type of restaurant that gives you more food than an Italian restaurant. It would take three Chinese restaurant meals to make up one Italian restaurant meal. Some of the more famous Italian dishes are chicken catchatori, veil parmesan and spaghetti and meatballs. However, there are literally over 100 Italian dishes you could choose from in a good Italian restaurant.

Vacation meals should be fun to prepare and delightful to eat! In addition, leisure meals should be easy to prepare! I’m pretty sure that’s a law in most parts of the country, especially on the Gulf Coast. No one wants to spend their vacation time slaving over a hot stove. Dinner is even more difficult when you have to serve twenty or more people.

Each year our extended family gets together for a family reunion of sorts, sharing the costs of renting a couple of houses on a beach somewhere. It usually works out pretty good for everyone. Since there are at least five families involved, someone different fixes dinner each evening. It has turned into a contest as to who will have the best meal.

When it was our family’s time to feed the hungry relatives, we opted for a seafood dinner. I wanted to fix something that was fairly easy on the cooks. Just about anywhere on the gulf coast you can find a fish market that sells everything from shrimp to shark. The larger stores of course, sell a bigger variety. Often the seafood comes off their own boats and as a result their prices can be a little lower. I like the romance and aroma of a larger seafood market makes me see in my mind the fishing boats coming in with the sun rising behind them after a long night’s fishing.

I went grocery shopping in the early afternoon because I wanted to have time for the seafood to marinate before cooking. I found such a place in Carrabelle, Florida. Just off the main road to Apalachicola, Florida. This fish market reminds one of a long forgotten Florida; the one without tourists standing shoulder to shoulder on the road in front of the place. They even had a wharf where a well experienced shrimp boat was tied to the pier. This old fish market promised to have everything we wanted for the evening meal.

Dinner was going to be as good as I could make it! I wanted the rest of the clan to lay down their aprons in defeat even before they had a chance to heat up the stove. I was going to have seafood kabobs with a tossed salad of just about any kind of fresh vegetable we could find to throw into the mix. My kitchen is no place for wooses!

In the seafood market I found what I needed for the kabobs; shrimp, bay scallops and shark. They had some great cuts of swordfish which would have worked but I have my own personal boycott of swordfish going on because they are getting scarce due to over fishing.

While it may be surprising, owning your own meat grinder can help you in your pursuit to live a healthier life. According to the USDA, the average American in 2000 consumed 300 more calories than the average American in 1985, a 12% increase, including a 24% increase of fat calories. The average daily fat intake was 81.4 grams and saturated fat intake was 27.9 grams in 2000 (ers.usda.gov/briefing/consumption). Americans are consuming too much fat, especially saturated fat.

One way to cut down on fat is to own your own meat grinder. Your meat grinder gives you the ability to manage what you are eating. You will no longer be subject to what seasonings and fillers that are found in the meats available in your local grocery store. With a meat grinder, you gain total control of what goes into your meat products. You are in charge of your intake of fats, salts, and other fillers since you are in control of the ingredients. A meat grinder can help you in your pursuit in living a healthier lifestyle.

A meat grinder is a useful tool for grinding meat for meatloaf, sausages, hamburgers, and much more. A meat grinder allows you to pick the cuts of meat you want and gives you a better consistency to your meat then a regular food processor can. In addition, it also has the ability to grind up nuts, fruit, cheese, and vegetables. This means you can let your imagination run wild with possibilities including relish, savory spreads, and much more. A meat grinder allows you to create healthy and better tasting meals.

A meat grinder not only allows healthy alternatives but also gives you a chance to be creative. For Memorial Day, our family barbecued the most amazing lean sausages with applesauce and apple chunks. These extra ingredients give the sausage a unique flavor and keep the lean meat moist. A meat grinder gives you the chance to stay lean and be creative. The following is a simple lean sausage recipe just to get you started on some of your own ideas.

Almost everyone loves eating gourmet chocolate. Since chocolate was first discovered, this delicious treat has continued to evolve in form and taste. However there are some people, especially those who are figure-conscious, who do not want to indulge themselves. This is because gourmet chocolate is often associated with weight gain. This may be true to some extent, but only when chocolate is eaten in excessive amounts.

How come gourmet chocolate is very popular? Gourmet chocolate stands out from other forms of chocolate through a variety of characteristics. Gourmet chocolate, unlike chocolate products of inferior quality, boasts a smooth and glossy appearance that is not marred by streaks and dots. Gourmet chocolate also gives off a rich aroma of cocoa, not an unappetizing chemical odor. When broken, this kind of chocolate snaps sharply, instead of crumbling or bending. Lastly, gourmet chocolate melts in the mouth and leaves a velvety texture. It does not taste too sweet or too bitter, nor does it leave an aftertaste in the mouth.

Gourmet chocolate is not only a delicious treat but has been proven to provide a number of health benefits. This kind of chocolate contains essential elements such as calcium, potassium, iron, and vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E. Gourmet chocolate also has high levels of chromium that help control blood sugar, as well as magnesium that alleviates premenstrual symptoms by increasing progesterone levels.

There is an impressive array of gourmet chocolate products available in the market today. In fact, a number of chocolate brands have become household names. But aside from the number of brands to choose from, gourmet chocolate comes in a variety of exciting flavors that include Caramel, Java Truffle, Jamaican Rum Caramel and Raspberry Truffle.

Can you guess which is the most common meal prepared at Easter dinner? Before answering, you should have in mind that something has to be done with all those eggs you boiled and colored. Deviled eggs are an easy to prepare meal, which you can serve at Easter dinner. The deviled eggs are simple to cook because they are just halved hard-cooked eggs with the yolk mashed with mayonnaise and seasonings and returned to the white.

We all love when our joyful event is decorated by the colored eggs. The Easter eggs are so lovely when they are dyed spring colors of blue, green and pink. However, the Easter Bunny always leaves too many eggs. These eggs can be used to prepare deviled eggs. Nevertheless, the deviled eggs cannot be cooked just for Easter.

Deviled eggs can be served for all kinds of occasions. At Christmas, you can put deviled eggs beside the honey-baked ham. Thanksgiving while the turkey is occupying the center of the table, you can serve the deviled eggs as a complement. You can even offer them as a snack when someone comes for a visit. Probably all people will love to see deviled eggs on the table.

Preparing deviled eggs is as easy as to boil an egg. I tell you this to know that if you have never cooked deviled eggs, it will not be a hard task for you. Here are some of the products you will need while preparing deviled eggs: several eggs, mayonnaise (or white salad dressing if you prefer), dill, mustard or sweet pickle relish (your choice) and sweet or hot paprika.

Before you start preparing the mixture for the deviled eggs, you will have to boil the eggs. The important thing is to make sure that you have fully cooked eggs. The making of deviled eggs requires fully cooked eggs. The pot you are going to use must be big enough so that all the eggs and the water will be able to fit in. see for yourself that in the pot there is enough space for the eggs, the water, and extra boiling room. Put the eggs in the stockpot. Then fill the pot with water so that the water surface will be at least an inch over the eggs. Place the pot on the stove. Turn the heat on high.

When you notice that the water become to boil, place a lid on the pot and turn the heat on medium low. Now, you should leave the eggs for fifteen minutes. Then, take the pot from the stove and cautiously put the eggs in cold water. Peel the eggs when they are cooled. By now, you managed to accomplish the most difficult task of the complete preparing of deviled eggs.

Cooking in the heart of Cajun country is an art form. There really is very little science to this particular form of cooking that includes a lot more than mere lagniappe from the pantry or the spice cabinet. Cajun cooking is something that has often been imitated around the country and around the world but can very rarely be accurately duplicated.

One of the fascinating things about Cajun cooking is the fact that there are very few exact recipes. Most, if not all authentic Cajun cooking is done to taste rather than measurements. Even more amazing is that from day to day one person can make the same dish over and over and it is quite likely to taste a little bit different each and every time it is made. The major reason for this is that in addition to being an art form in and of itself, Cajun food is often made even more delicious or mysterious simply by the mood of the one doing the cooking.

I’m sure that many of you have watched as Emeril Lagasse makes some special concoction and exclaims “Bam!” there is a good bit of that when it comes to Cajun cooking. Something that goes far beyond the ingredients in the recipe and somewhere into the heart and the soul of the cook in question. There is a reason that many southern cooked dishes are referred to as soul food and you should not for one second forget that New Orleans is in the heart of the Deep South.

The most difficult thing, perhaps when it comes to preparing good Cajun dishes outside of the New Orleans region is finding the right ingredients. It is nearly impossible to find the fresh seasonings and spices that are essential to most Cajun cuisine outside the heart of the old south. Not only that, but fresh crawfish and andouille sausage are a little difficult to come by during the heart of a Michigan winter.

If you are determined to learn to make Cajun food of your own, you must first find the ingredients. Specialty food shops or those that will special order might be your best bet. These can also be found on the Internet. There are some grocers that will carry a limited stock of Cajun seasonings on their international food aisles. Keep in mind that these sources are extremely limited.

There are many recipes that can make healthy foods that taste good and are good for you. The truth is one will not eat healthy foods continuously if you have been enjoying your greasy foods to the last drop of fat. Kids have to start eating properly as well, and there are great recipes for kids that will help keep them strong and healthy.

One just has to take the time by exploring what good foods are available out there for the whole family. To start off with you will either love the healthy foods or dislike it. All you have to do it give it a chance. Maybe one day your healthy dish will become your favorite dish. The following recipe was tried out by a few people and they admitted that they loved their greasy foods but found that this dish was very delicious. The recipe is quite simple to understand and it will not at all take you long to prepare. Let’s look at: Potato With Caramelized Onions

Ingredients
What you will need is:
1 x pound of potatoes
2 x medium-sized onions
2 x tablespoons of fresh parsley chopped
1 x tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin)
Salt pepper mixed

Method
1) The potatoes have to be peeled and then cut into quarters. After peeling them boil the potatoes in water containing salt for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are done.

2) Next, you have to peel the onions and then cut them in half and slice them thinly. The olive oil is then to be heated up in a skillet over heat that is just over medium high. The onions have to be fried until transparent. Continue to fry the onions until they become caramelized. This will take around 20 to 30 minutes. Keep in mind that the onions have to be stirred continuously so they do not burn.

Giant squid, once believed to be mythical creatures, are squid of the Architeuthidae family, represented by as many as eight species of the genus Architeuthis. They are deep-ocean dwelling animals that can grow to a tremendous size: recent estimates put the maximum size at 13 m (43 ft) for females and 10 m (33 ft) for males from caudal fin to the tip of the two long tentacles (second only to the colossal squid at an estimated 14 m (46 ft), one of the largest living organisms). The mantle is only about 2 m (7 ft) long (more for females, less for males), and the length of the squid excluding its tentacles is about 5 m (16 ft). There have been claims reported of specimens of up to 20 m (66 ft), but no animals of such size have been scientifically documented.

On September 30, 2004, researchers from the National Science Museum of Japan and the Ogasawara Whale Watching Association took the first images of a live giant squid in its natural habitat.[1] Several of the 556 photographs were released a year later. The same team successfully filmed a live giant squid for the first time on December 4, 2006.[2]

Frozen Yogurt is a frozen dessert made from or containing yogurt or dairy analogues. Frozen yogurt is served as a low-fat or fat-free alternative to ice cream. It may or may not contain active cultures.

Typically frozen yogurt will contain low- or no-fat yogurt, sweetener, gelatin, corn syrup, coloring and flavoring. Frozen yogurt is typically made in an ice cream machine. Frozen yogurt both freezes and melts much slower than ice cream since yogurt has a much higher enthalpy of fusion than milk. Frozen yogurt is flavored typically in the same flavors as ice cream but since it is made with low-fat or fat-free yogurt instead of cream or milk, it has a much lower fat content. Sugar-free versions of frozen yogurt are readily available. Frozen yogurt flavored with fructose is marketed for people sensitive to sugar, such as diabetics. Frozen yogurt is often eaten by lactose-sensitve people in place of ice cream, as the live cultures can help digest the lactose. Live culture probiotic frozen yogurt served in the likes of Yogen Fruz have seen added demand by health conscious consumers returning to smarter alternatives. [2]

Although frozen yogurt has been made since at least the 1970s, it did not become especially popular until the 1980s [citation needed].

One of the first frozen yogurts in the U.S. was made by Dannon, which had a prepackaged frozen yogurt on a stick called Danny’s, raspberry flavor covered by dark chocolate. The original Danny’s yogurt was tart in flavor compared to current frozen yogurts.[3][4] More recently a new frozen yogurt made by Pinkberry has returned to a more tart formulation.[5]

A food processor is a kitchen appliance used to facilitate various repetitive tasks in the process of preparation of food. Today, the term almost always refers to an electric-motor-driven appliance, although there are some manual devices also referred to as “food processors”.

Food processors are similar to blenders in many ways. The primary difference is that food processors use swappable blades and disks (attachments) instead of a fixed blade. Also, their bowls are wider and shorter, a more appropriate shape for the solid or semi-solid foods usually worked in a food processor. Usually little or no liquid is required in the operation of the food processor unlike a blender, which requires some amount of liquid to move the particles around its blade.

Its functions normally consist of:

* Slicing/chopping vegetables
* Grinding items such as nuts, meat, or dried fruit
* Shredding or grating cheese or vegetables
* Pureeing
* Mixing and kneading doughs
