LCD projector lamps vary by model, so selection usually depends on the manufacturing company and types such as Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent, Halogen, and HID such as Metal halide and Low/High Pressure Sodium, 3M Projector, Full Spectrum, and Ballasts, to name a few.</p>
<p>The total lamp life is the expected operating time of the projector lamp, which is expressed in terms of hours. Most LCD projectors use a metal halide source with a lamp life of 750 to 4,000 hours or more. Lamp life is not a very useful measurement, since they gradually grow dimmer without burning out and will continue to function even if they are too dim to be considered usable. So the term Ã¢â‚¬Å“peak lamp lifeÃ¢â‚¬Â &#8211; the time the lamp will last at eighty to ninety percent of total brightness Ã¢â‚¬â€œ is commonly used by manufacturers.</p>
<p>In contrast to metal halide lamps that burn with a very white light, halogen lamps burn with a yellowish light, at a steady rate, and have a consistent brightness throughout lamp life; but they only last approximately seventy hours per bulb. Therefore, they are also less expensive.</p>
<p>LCD projector lamps last the longest when the LCD projector is operated in &#8220;economy mode,&#8221; frequently powered down for cool-down periods, and operated in a clean, fairly dust-free environment. Projectors that are subjected to constant use have the highest probability of lamp failure before the end of the rated hours.</p>

<p>Projector screens come in various sizes. The screen size depends upon the lens of the projector. For short throw lenses, i.e. the lens that produces the largest image in the shortest distance, big screens may be chosen. This is ideal in a small room gathering. For long throw lens, i.e. the lens that produces small image from large distances, small screens may be chosen. This is ideal for projections from a booth or stall.</p>
<p>Projector screens are measured by the diagonal distance of the image needed. Alternatively, screens can be chosen according to the distance of the projector from the screen. The width of the screen is half the length of the projector from the screen; i.e. if the distance is 16 feet, then the width of the screen is 8 feet.</p>
<p>The screens come as accessories and the rental rate start from $30. Almost all of the projector rental companies have stocks of screens.</p>
<p>The competition to the screen rental comes in the form of residential as hoc screens such as bed sheets and tarp. Bed sheets with a mix of colors are hung to give better picture. Outdoor projector screens are in demand during summer when one would prefer to have outdoor parties. For conferences and meetings, sometimes flat panel displays and plasma screens replace the conventional screens.</p>
