The battery for your cellular phone is expensive and many times are worth more than the phone is worth – especially when you consider that you probably purchased your phone on a 1, 2 or 3-year term and unless you are only in the 2nd year of that term it’s better to buy a new phone.

What is driving the battery to die so quickly? It is all the add-ons on the phones that we use such as WiFi, Bluetooth and not to mention GPS.

What can you do to extend the life of your phones battery? Here 8 tips to extend the life of your cell phone battery.

Lithium-ion Battery: This particular type of battery is one of the newest in power technology. On average, the lithium-ion is twenty-five percent lighter than other leading batteries. If charged completely for the first three cycles of its life, the lithium-ion will last approximately ten percent longer than most other batteries. The lithium-ion will general be of use for approximately two to three years.

Also as with other batteries, overcharging the lithium-ion will ruin its performance, or minimize it in some cases. To overcharge would be to charge the battery more than twenty-four hours, consecutively. This means, no leaving the cell phone on its charger for longer than this amount of time.

Nickel Hydride Battery (NiMh): The nickel hydride will generally provide twenty-five percent more power than the nickel cadmium battery. This battery will require a complete empty charge, and a full re-charge, every four to five cycles. This, in a way, clears the battery and gives it a fresh start. Like most other batteries, it is never in your favor to charge the nickel hydride for more than twenty-four hours. Again, this can be complicated at first as one must remember to completely discharge their battery or let it run dead at least four to five times before recharging it.

Nickel Cadmium Battery (NiCd): The nickel cadmium is the oldest of cellular power sources. These batteries will still perform on a positive level, although they are not sold as often as the above options. The NiCd battery has not proven to be environmentally positive, as per its disposal inefficiency; although, the NiCd battery continues to be sold in stores today.

The Energizer battery charger is considered as a family charger because it is suitable for AA, AAA, C, D and volts batteries. In general cases, people require a battery charger for charging AA or AAA rechargeable batteries. But, if there are small children in the house using toys, swings and many other children products that consumes battery, then their batteries can be easily charged by the Energizer battery charger. Thus, it is a multi-purpose charger.

Did you know you could revive a dead battery and save hundreds of dollars per year, replacing seemingly dead batteries? The process is called battery recondition and is provided in a battery guide specifically written by the Battery Geek, aka Kevin Dixon.

Reconditioning an aged battery is quite easy process, and successes reach to 60% of the time, leaving you with completely dead batteries at 40% which is not bad, if you consider that you can get them for free! Obviously, you need to learn how to recondition and rejuvenate a battery, and with the right instructions it is not a long process. What you are going to love is that you don’t have to spend a fortune on equipment; you can start on almost no capital at all.

1. It is a cheap process:

Apart from money saving on batteries that you use personally, this process can be a good business opportunity, for the open minded person – is that you? Even a part-time occupation can turn a tidy profit for you. Well, the fact is that, dead batteries are thrown away, right? So even if you can only rejuvenate one out of three, this costs you nothing! You are making money for free, and with NO effort!

2. You can do it as a Business:

This is totally depending on you – would like to make some extra money, or just saving from battery reconditioning? You can source seemingly dead batteries from your nearby garage, by placing an ad, or simply spreading out the word. Then you can easily revive them, and sell them for at your neighborhood’s garage or repair shop, or on line to eBay.

Here is a nice idea to find customers – agree with your local car repair shop to place a leaflet on their store that advertises your business. Agree to give them a cut of profits for any battery they sell for you or each time they refer someone.

3. Batteries go “dead” all the time:

Just imagine how many devices use batteries. Really, there are no limits to a battery reconditioning expert! Everything relies on portable batteries. Automotive, motorcycle, iPods, mp3s, marine, motorized wheelchair, power tool batteries. Do you know how expensive new batteries can be? Just take a look at your neighborhood store or on the internet. The battery IS the most expensive part of a power tool.

4. What are the costs to consider?

First of all the guide itself – the battery reconditioning guide sells online for about $45 and is immediately downloadable through the internet, no need to wait for the mail. I you go on a professional level, you will need around $150 for a computer controlled battery analyzer. However, you can get that at eBay for less, or you can do without it and use only a voltmeter which does the same job. In addition, I would definitely recommend in considering investing in an analyzer.

If you are in a business that involves the distribution, storage or transport of heavy machinery, then, you need the right logistics partner at your side because such a service can make or break your business. If you are a supplier of such machinery, then, overnight distribution, storage, supervising, loading and unloading services are necessary.

Fortunately, there are hundreds of heavy machinery moving services all over the country. Even so, only a few of these services are totally reliable in their services. When you are in a business that depends on quality service, then, you too would expect to be associated with support services that deliver the same quality and precision that you provide.

Here are a few tips to help you pick quality heavy machinery moving services:

Go by their reputation – A tried and tested company is a surefire way of identifying industry leaders in the niche. In addition to depending on the general opinion regarding the company, you must also make specific enquiries about the company concerned.

Flexibility – Logistics is not just about moving things from one place to another. There are different services involved and as companies become more demanding, logistics is also becoming more customer oriented. In fact, logistics involves freight forwarding, customs clearance, pre-delivery processing, storage facilities, heavy machinery moving, insurance, customs consultation and supervision, to name a few services. When a company is able to offer you a variety of options, you then have the freedom to prioritize according to money or budget. It is necessary to select a heavy machinery moving company that offers you different options or is even ready to offer you customized solutions. It is important that your logistics partner can deliver your goods, regardless of the demands of distance and time.

Network – A wide network is a very helpful thing, even if your company is too young to require such a network. In case you need emergency machine delivery services, companies that have a wide network will be able to make the delivery using available resources or even by depending on member companies.

Quality service – a company that goes the extra mile to make their clients feel safe and important is the kind of company you want to work with. If you are associated with a heavy machinery moving company that has vehicles that are old and broken down, then, delays in delivery cannot be ruled out. Dependable transportation services, great public relations personnel and complete logistics solutions are important if you want to enjoy complete peace of mind regarding the delivery of your equipment.

There have been electricity-assisted cars running around the world for some time now; these cars, of which the Prius is one, basically run on gasoline the whole time. They just use their internal combustion engines to keep an internal battery charged, so that when the car needs to run at very low speeds, it can turn on battery power. As much as the Prius feels like an electric car, it isn’t really one; real all-electric cars, would have no gasoline engine; they would be the kind you plug in. There have been few cars made like this; they don’t really sell that well, because people realize that when your battery runs down, you can’t really be expected to tow the car back home to plug it in. There have to be charging stations everywhere. That’s the only way anyone would ever really pick up on all-electric cars. You’ve read about the Chevy Volt and the 125 mph Tesla Roadster , haven’t you? The all electric cars are coming. All that remains, is a development plan across towns and cities in America, to have the charging infrastructure in place before then.

If any city in America is going to be ready for all electric cars, it would have to be the capital of America’s most environmentally conscious state, San Francisco. And perhaps Portland and San Diego. These are places with enough of a young and with-it crowd that can’t wait to do something environmentally responsible. They have drawn up building regulations across San Francisco – any new building will need to be ready-wired to provide charging stations for cars. Across the street from City Hall, there are already a bunch of charging stations. In fact, the utility company Pacific Gas and Electric is so concerned about how all-electric cars are going to be runaway popular, they are drawing up plans to strengthen the wiring to key areas, so that they don’t overload on too many cars charging at the same time.

Having the utility companies doing their bit for the car companies’plans isn’t the only thing that needs doing here. Local governments need to work out the kind of tax breaks they will be willing to hand out to electric car buyers too. It might seem like all of this is a little too much close attention paid just to get a couple of tax breaks and charging sockets out. But charging your car isn’t as simple as it sounds. Anyone who wants a charging point installed at his home now, can look at the best part of a month of repeated visits by inspectors, technicians and installers, not to mention repeated reminder phone calls.

The infrastructure for all electric cars is getting a bit of a trial run at Google and Adobe in Silicon Valley. Google owns a fleet of all electric cars they hand around to their employees. At Google, the company electric garage is powered by solar panels, and has a bunch of charging ports. Adobe is doing much the same. Everyone’s expecting lots of action really soon.

So you’re finally ready to take the next step and become a licensed contractor. Before you do this, I would like to share a couple of things with you about contractors licensing schools and what it takes to become a licensed contractor in most states. Remember, there are some states that don’t require contractors to have licenses.

The first thing you need to do, is contact your state’s contractor licensing board and get all of the information that you can about becoming a contractor. It’s usually not as hard as most people might think. When I took my test in 1986, you only needed to answer 62% of the questions correctly to pass and received your brand-new contractor’s license.

If you can’t find the licensing board, go to your state website, which is usually listed as state.gov. The state of California’s contractors licensing board is located at California.gov website. Arizona’s can be located at az.gov. Just type the name of your state into any search engine and there’s a good chance that it will take you to your state’s homepage.

Most states require a four-year minimum as a journey man in the field that you are going to be applying for your contractor’s license. I got my license as a general contractor with four years of experience as a framing carpenter, because they didn’t have framing contractor licenses back then. Now they do.

Becoming a licensed contractor is one way to make more money and lead a better life. If you’re a hard worker, success driven person and you don’t mind working long hours, go for it. If you just want to make a lot of money without doing much work, maybe you should try your luck at something else, because most of the contractors I know, work for a living.

The best place to obtain a quality contractor is through a referral company or service. Before enlisting a contractor’s services you need to know what kind of contractor you will need for your work project.

Commercial Contractors: There are many aspects of commercial renovation and construction contractors that are different from residential contractors. Commercial contractors specialize in industry and business related buildings that can include: retail, hospitality, industrial, government, and apartment improvements. Commercial contractors must adhere to legal regulations instituted by the government and town or city. For instance, they have commercial codes that must be followed regarding commercial construction that includes plumbing, electrical wiring, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, emergency exit points, structural additions, renovation, repairs, and much more. Restroom requirements and restrictions are another consideration for commercial building plans. Commercial contractors will provide an estimate before you sign the work contract.

Residential Contractors: A residential contractor provides home and renovation services. They have the qualifications and experience to complete any home project such as: roofing, adding a room, renovating bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, etc. After the job is complete, they will take care of the clean up. They will provide an estimate before you sign the work contract.

Commercial and Residential Contractor referral services differ according to the targeted business. A commercial referral service will only list referrals who are involved with commercial projects. A residential referral service will list contractors who are involved with home based projects. Many referral services will offer both types of contractor referrals.

Online contractor referral services will provide verified, insured, and licensed contractor quotes for any type of project. Bringing homeowners and businesses together with contractors on a referral site will insure that both are dedicated to getting the job done accurately and at the best possible price. Homeowners and businesses can check the integrity and quality of a particular contractor by reading job evaluation responses from former customers. Contractors will bid on your project so that you can get a number of quotes to help you make a final decision about who you will hire. It is a great tool that will ensure you are getting quality and value for your money.

If you have a project that is either commercial or residential, all you have to do is post your project on an online contractor referral site. You will then start to receive bids from local contractors. Some sites also have an advance search feature that will allow you to locate the best contract for your particular new home construction, renovation, or commercial project. One of the best features of the service is that most online referral sites do not charge a fee for customers to post their projects.

Many different home improvement contractors are available to help with everything from home maintenance to interior remodeling to exterior work. Then, there are the types of contractors–known as general contractors–responsible for an entire construction project. It is important to follow and look for contractor qualifications if you are an independent home improvement contractor or are hiring someone to work on a construction project. Below are license and other requirements specifically for general contractors:

Specific requirements for general contractors can vary slightly by state, but here are the requirements that are most common for general contractors:

    * Have at least 2 years experience in home improvement, construction, or related education.

    * Must fill out credit report application form providing proof of credit to pay debts and long-term expenses as they become due in the course of business.

    * Must submit articles of incorporation and certificate of good standing from the Assessments & Taxation Department in one’s state if representing a corporation.

    * Must check with state’s department of licensing if they want to use a trade name to make sure the name is available to use. If so, register the name with their state’s assessments and taxation department. Submit trade name registration certificate with license application.

    * Proof of $50,000 liability insurance in effect at all times.

    * Renew license every 2 years.

General contractors also need to follow the requirements that all contractors must follow in the United States. That is, to be a legitimate contractor in the United States one needs to:

    * Be at least 18 years old.

    * Give proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency.

    * Have liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. A certificate of insurance should also be ready to show customers. Contractors can get certificates of insurance that show policy limits and coverage dates from insurance carriers.

Note that a general contractor is responsible for the entire construction project and accepts full responsibility for the construction process and final results. Subcontractors may be hired by a general contractor to work on various aspects of a project. A subcontractor is an individual or business that enters into a legally binding agreement to complete some or all of a contractor’s work. The general contractor may hire electrical, plumbing, and roofing subcontractors as well as subcontractors for the various other construction specialties. The general contractor coordinates the work and pays the subcontractors.

Contractors exist in many construction fields including basement waterproofing, remodeling, and more. It may seem that anyone with construction knowledge can call themselves a contractor, but this is not necessarily the case. Contractors and subcontractors in the various construction fields like plumbing, electrical, and hvac all have certain requirements they must meet.

Most residential contractors in Georgia never considered writing warranties for their work. Builders usually think of warranties as an extra responsibility with little payback: Better to ignore the issue and hope clients never give it a thought.

That’s about to change. Georgia Code Section 43-41-7 (the Written Warranty Act) now requires that residential contractors deliver a written warranty before starting work on any job valued at over $2,500. The Georgia legislature left it to the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors to decide what has to be in that warranty. The Board’s regulation went into effect on August 4, 2008.

There are two ways to look at this. First, the Written Warranty Act is just another burden contractors have to carry (or find a way to avoid). Second, contractors could decide that the Written Warranty Act is an opportunity likely to make or save time and money.

When a customer buys a car or a set of tires or get your car serviced, you get a warranty as part of the deal. That warranty draws a line in the sand that identifies exactly what’s covered and what isn’t, reducing the margin for dispute. Car dealers and appliance manufacturers wouldn’t even consider doing business without a written warranty, (for their own protection). Licensed residential contractors need warranty protection even more than appliance dealers. Their risk of loss is even greater. A good contract with favorable warranty terms will reduce the risk they face.

And the Georgia Written Warranty Act makes it easy. The only iron-clad warranty rules:

1. It has to be in writing.
2. It has to explain what’s covered and what’s excluded.
3. It has to identify duration of the warranty.
4. It has to describe claim procedures and
5. response options.
6. And has to assign any manufacturer warranties. What a contractor says in his warranty on those six points is entirely up to the contractor. They can cover or exclude anything and for any period so long as the warranty touches all six points as listed above.

HVAC means heating, ventilation and air conditioning contractors. These are people you hire to install your much needed heating and air conditioning systems in the home and buildings. They are certified professionals who possess the proper knowledge and skills in installing, repairing and cleaning all types and size of units whether small or large.

Before getting HVAC contractors, be sure you have the pertinent information such as the climate in your location, the amount of sunlight you get every day and areas in the home which may be hard to ventilate. The contractors normally ask for these information which they use in taking the necessary measures from installing air conditioning units, heaters, furnaces, ducts and ventilation. HVAC people do their work in all types of homes, whether extensions, new construction, remodels, kitchens, bathrooms, guest houses and garage apartments.

Some people do not have experience dealing with HVAC contractors especially those who buy a heating or cooling system already installed in the house they purchase. Sometimes, this makes it difficult for them to get the best deal.

This should not be a problem, though, as there are some ways to make the process of hiring the right ones easier. The most important steps to take are to ask for recommendations from friends who have had previous experience with contractors. Friends, relatives or colleagues in your office will surely have somebody to recommend for you.

Once you have a list of names, you may make a call to each one of them to find out how long they have been in the business and then check their references as well as their licenses. The references are vital as you can get additional information from them about the skills and experiences of the HVAC contractors. Verify their credentials, license, insurance and Business Bureau membership.

The State of California is one of the largest and most prosperous states in the US. Its popular cities and fast growing towns attract a lot of investments in new business ventures of all types ranging from construction of new buildings, parking lots, roads, highways and other construction projects. The State of California requires all contractors involved in construction work to obtain an approval from the California Contractors State License Board before proceeding with their work. There are certain rules and regulations to be followed and certain prerequisites to be met in order to apply for this license. The rule applies to all contractors who have a budget of $500 or more on any of their projects.

There exist many consultants in California who help contractors with the process of applying and acquiring these licenses. With their help, the daunting task of receiving the licenses becomes easier to a large extent. It is essential for contractors to possess certain certificates and licenses, which must be in accordance with the board located at Sacramento. The verification of these licenses is essential in order to prevent fraudulent or dubious activity pertaining to construction projects. Most people are advised to check the credentials of contractors before engaging with them.

The California Contractors State License Board issues contractors pocket licenses, which provide information about the type of work and contract that a particular contractor is licensed for. It is advisable to verify these pocket licenses before signing and finalizing the deal with a contractor. It is also essential to verify whether the contractor is licensed for the type of work that needs to be done. The contractor’s commission must be verified as well and cannot exceed 10% of the total cost of the construction. The payment to contractors for their services is usually made in cash.

A large number of experienced contractors offer their services to businessmen and firms in California. Verification of the license of contractors has become essential with an increasing number of unlicensed contractors jumping into the fray of construction, given that the business sector has huge pay-offs. It is advisable to hire contractors only after checking their license and the credibility.
